Check out what's putting Israel in the headlines this month, from health to social media and everything in between
STAT
Israelis are among the world’s healthiest eaters, according to a new study published by the Lancet Global Health Journal. Israel was ranked 9th out of 187 countries worldwide, according to dietary habits and overall consumption of healthy foods.
MEDIA
Facebook Israel is expanding its Tel Aviv offices, growing by over 50 percent. The social-networking conglomerate announced plans to add 40 new employees to its current team – a success story that is Facebook-worthy, indeed.
TOURS
Tel Aviv is the latest of 50 cities around the world, including London, Paris and Hong Kong, to get a giant hot air balloon. The TLV Balloon, which recently landed in Israel, can carry up to 30 people at a time and floats above the city, offering a bird’s eye view tour of Tel Aviv.
CELEBS
Celebrity update: the word around town is that Madonna has been shopping for some new digs in Tel Aviv. She reportedly has her eye on a $55 million penthouse apartment in Mayer Tower on Rothschild Boulevard. The luxury penthouse sprawls over two floors, offers 360 degree views of the city, and includes an outdoor deck, bar and pool overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
