You may not believe it, but the coolest guy in the world lives in East Jerusalem. The guy, incidentally, is 18 year old Shukri Lawrence. Despite his young age, he has already been marked as an up and coming major talent by fashion publications, such as Paper Magazine. The latter featured his t shirt collection tRASHY CLOTHING, a post-post-modern take on major brand designer t shirts mashed up with Arabic typography.
According to Lawrence, "The purpose of tRASHY CLOTHING is to invite dialogue and change into our daily lives. To break stereotypes put upon the Middle East and to provoke bigots. We as Palestinians want to bring awareness to the Middle East in modern pop culture.
We do not mean to offend any culture or religion with our designs, the messages are shared through the style of internet culture which may offend some individuals; we do not intend to offend but to defend. 25% of profit made on each purchase is donated to Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps. With tRASHY CLOTHING we are hoping to help the Middle East".
