TEL AVEAT

A true foodie website created by locals, Tel Aveat is a successful restaurant recommendation website operating since July. In 2012, London-native founders Natalie Kanfer and Leah Berwald noticed a gap in the market for easy and accessible restaurant guides in the food mecca of Tel Aviv. The idea behind the concept is to compile and recommend great restaurants that haven’t had poor online reviews in the past. The website eliminates the hassle of having to read 10 mediocre restaurant reviews in order to finally find one good one – founders Kanfer and Berwald already did all the heavy-lifting for you in advance. Restaurants are broken down into categories making extensive searches a snap.

THE TABLE

If you’re someone who relies on professional restaurant reviews before checking out the local food scene, The Table might just be your new best friend. The Table is a website experience that allows you to judge where you should eat in Tel Aviv based solely on existing professional reviews. A unique restaurant rating website, the concept of The Table relies on considering reviews of various credible sources and ranking the websites based on an algorithm. Its algorithm takes the professional restaurant reviews, analyzes them, and creates a conclusive score that allows the restaurants to be displayed in a viewer-friendly chart.

EATWITH

Whether you’re a tourist who wants to dine in the homes of locals or you’re a local who wants to host travelers for a meal, EatWith.com is a great way to discover new foods and friends. EatWith was founded in Tel Aviv in 2012 by food-obsessed world travelers Guy Michlin and Shemer Schwartz. Dinner hosts will post what type of food they will be serving, a sample of the menu, the alcohol selection, the setting in which the meal will be served, and the dates and price of the meal. Choose anywhere from international cuisines to vegan breakfasts and beach-front decks to rooftop gardens in the website’s organized layout. Past diners post their photos and reviews of how they liked the food, the hosts/chefs, and the atmosphere for future diners’ convenience.

LIBRIUT

Everyone says that if it tastes good for you, it must be bad for you, right? Well, Israeli company Libriut is here to prove the world (or at least Israel) wrong. Their home-cooked nutritious food is equally delicious – and delivered straight to your door. It almost seems too good to be true. In Hebrew “libriut” translates to “good health”, and every meal lives up to it. The menu changes weekly, but options are never fried and sans artificial preservatives, powders or colors. The dishes are also dairy-free and most are even gluten-free. The build-your-own-meals include a range of choices of grains, legumes, vegetables, and a type of main dish, such as salmon or tofu. Customers seeking specific dietary and health needs are in major luck – each meal is perfectly tailored for weight loss, detoxification and more.
